Oh, Kaylee

I had to adjust her car seat straps because she couldn't fit in with her normal settings because her outfit was so big! That's kaylee for ya- a beautiful dress with a tu-tu underneath to give the full effect of extravagance. 

It's not every day that she dresses like this, but it also isn't that rare. :)

Just A Look

Just sporting a look...she had been wearing the headband on her forehead like she was straight out of an aerobics video. 

Too Early For Potty Training?

Someone wants to be just like her big sisters. There is no doubt that she has strong desire to be like A & K but I didn't know it extended this far.

Lily stole her sisters undies ran around with them with a giant smile on her face like she had just won a gold medal. After her victory lap she brought me the undies (i was sitting on the kitchen floor) and played keep away until she sat down in front of me held the undies in the air and then placed them on her foot and looked at me like "aren't you going to do something about this? They are supposed to go on me."
And sure enough I put them on and as I was about to pull them over her rush she stood up so I could pull the on all the way. She admired the undies (that which she could...she did just eat and she had quite the little belly on her) and gave me a giant smile and ran to play. Happy, happy, undie wearing child.

She is currently sleeping with footsie pjs on and a pair of undies on top.

Ok! Let's Do This!

A phrase you never want to hear your 2.5 year old saying!

I overheard the girls plotting something over the monitor, mostly jibber jabber but clear as a bell I hear Kaylee say, "Ok! let's do this!" followed by a giant boom and laughter.

I snuck upstairs to catch them in the act, whatever the act may have been, and I find them in their room jumping off their beds happily and then immediately doing a forward roll. I couldn't help but just smile and watch from the partially open door. I was very happy to find them doing a slightly crazy stunt like jumping into forward rolls....I was expecting much worse. Though I still won't feel safe in their decision making when it is prefaced by, "Ok! Let's do this!"

She may eat it? Yep, I guess so. Perhaps I should give Laura Numeroff, the author of 'If You Give A...' book series this concept for a new book. It could take off, who knows?

Beds Are So Yesterday

Apparently the floor is the new bed. Recently the girls, Alex namely, has been wanting to sleep on anything...besides her bed. I'm not sure what is going on with that but it seems like daddy and I have made a good decision to get real big girl beds for Christmas.

Rewind: last night. Oh what a night. I mean if my bladder wasn't getting me ready for baby #4 my twins sure were. Those who know me know I'm big on making good sleepers so when sweet Alex woke up at 2:30 in the morning and told me she had to go pee pee. So I can't possibly say no since the night diaper is the last diaper we have to ditch before being fully potty trained...so as I'm taking Alex to the potty and Kaylee wakes up in hysterics. Why? You may ask. Well, my dear kaylee just HAD to go to bed with her 'tap shoes' (aka. Dress Mary Janes) and there are somethings you don't argue with. Daddy took off her shoes around 10:30 last night and she didn't notice then but she did at 2:30 am and queue the sirens!
Little Kaylee was so upset about those shoes! Luckily, I can easily leave Alex on the potty and tend to the shoeless :) I put the shoes on and then she need to use the potty...15 minutes later she was done on the potty. (side note: neither actually went potty). So back to bed we go, or back into their room we go.
Kaylee got in her bed and Alex curled up in the Boppy pillow...alright I guess. I tucked them both in and off to 'bed' they went.
4am: Alex creeps out her door- 'I have to go pee pee!' and we are in the same cycle as earlier, minus the shoe fiasco. But this time Alex curled up in the rocking chair in her room. I advised her that sleeping in the chair would not be a good choice and she chose to sleep in the Boppy, again.
Sweet, crazy girls what am I going to do?! :)

For some reason yesterday the girls wanted to play in the back of the car. We spent a good 30 minutes there...and here is what they figured out they could do. And miss Lily was as patient as could be sitting in her seat watching her sisters play around her and often time with her.

Ps. Those awful red marks on kaylee are bug bites...poor thing is so sensitive to them :(

Horsey Needs Food, Momma

And there was no 'good morning, momma.' or 'I love you, momma!' I was greeted by my children, namely Alex with 'horsey needs some food, momma. Horsey needs some goldfish.'

Thought Process?

You know they had something in mind...just what was that exactly?

My Children

I put the girls to bed and left the blinds open slightly because they wanted to read...no problem. We allow them to read or entertain eachother as long as they stay in their cribs. Well today I put them down and they started to read/chat with eachother and about 10 minutes into 'naptime' I hear a loud 'click' over the monitor....they shut their door completely so I can't see what mischief they are getting into. From the sound of it--foot stomps on the ground and their conversation over the monitor. They have managed to go into their diaper drawer and have pulled out multiple diapers to find just the right one for Alex's dear 'Elmo' baby doll.

I may just try to sneak a peek :)

More Park Takes

Oh Me! Oh My!

Sometimes you have the best intentions to have fun and expect that you have everything together...well you just can't have everything.

We packed up snacks, drinks, toys, sunscreen, stroller, and we were ready. We were headed to Frying Pan Farm for an afternoon. We got there we sunscreened up and were about to head out to the animals...except it was super sunny and a little warm and lily has no hair, and now no hat. :(

No fear, we had a pair of diaper covers and a pony tail holder and when their powers combined-a hat was formed. And Lily seemed just happy enough :)
