Table? Toy? Both?

Grandma and Grandpa Neil bought the girls some adirondack chairs chairs with a matching table. In the morning I place their sippy cups on the table and they know right where they are. In the past few days they have found new uses for the table...Alex likes to push it around, lift it up, flip it over and now sit in it. Kaylee wanted to join in the fun, but there wasn't quite enough room for her so she tried to push Alex. *spoiler alert* It didn't work. But they still had fun- I actually squeezed Kaylee and Alex in the table and pushed them all around the living room and I had them laughing pretty well with that new game.

It's Been Said..And We'll Say It Again

We love food! Yeah!

Do I Look Comfy?

Or something. Alex is our roly poly child and sometimes she just melts...can you tell?

Hello, World

Sick Babies Need Pancakes

The girls told me they wanted to try pancakes- you can't argue with a sick baby, so I whipped up some pancakes for my sick babies. This was also a good practice for them-biting off pieces by themselves rather than just picking up bite size pieces. They did a pretty good job, although Kaylee enjoyed shoving big pieces into her mouth (and smiling).

Here Sister- I've Got Something For You

Kaylee was quite aware that her sister had a terribly runny nose and she tried to help by getting some tissues for her. How kind...

It's Getting Hot In Here

So bring out your thermometer! My sweet Alex has been extra sweet these past few days while running a fever. It started on Monday with a 101.4 fever after an early nap and it has been a roller coaster ever since. Thank goodness for moms who have been through this before otherwise I'm not sure what I'd be doing. Each website I checked said something different about the fever 'danger zone' so my poor sister-in-law took quite a few calls and texts from me. This has been our first fever and when Alex reached 102+ a few times I got a little anxious. My little lethargic child is just so sweet and cuddly- I so wish she would get better, but I like the cuddles for now.

We went to the doctors office today and I am pretty sure I looked like a hot mess carrying both of my kids from the parking deck, up the slight hill to the office. When I was there the doctor took a look at Kaylee as well since she decided to show a fever earlier today.
So what did the doc say? 1. their ears looked great (translation: no ear infection) 2. Not the flu 3. Not Strep (however, they do an overnight test as well, so I'll find out for sure tomorrow) 4. Not RSV
So what's wrong? The girls have a viral infection and if Alex's fever is not gone by Friday we need to go back and get some extra tests done. Hopefully we won't need to go back. For now we are treating with some Advil and that has been working well. I am hoping the girls get a good night sleep tonight (because momma and dada need one too!)

A Sunny Stroll With My Car

Alex might need to learn how to steer but she's got the walking thing down! This was taken on Friday during our neighborhood get together-we are excited for more warm days ahead.

To The Park

The girls and I went to the park this morning to hang out on the swings and see our friends Lisa and Katie Beth. We had a great time in the beautiful weather. Katie Beth and Alex rode in the swing at the same time and the girls thought it was awesome. They would lean back on each other, grab for each others hands or sleeve and Kaylee was happy as can be swinging on her own swing. After swing time we played with the slides and Kaylee was first up...and not too pleased about going down the slide. Poor little girl got a little scared and ended up with a few tears she eventually went down with no tears after watching the other girls try the slide.
The girls had so much fun and were so worn out from the park that I had to put them to nap an hour early! I don't think I've ever put them to bed that early so I am hoping they will be happy this afternoon when we hang out with our neighbors in the 'hood and not too cranky.

Silly Child

Alex took Kaylee's sippy cup this morning and Kaylee cheered her on. Eventually Alex got tired of the sippy cups and dropped them both off her tray (the video was cut short)

We Love To Read

Our favorite part of the day: Sitting down with a good book! Alex loves playing with her rocking chair and has decided that sitting in it is pretty great too. I tried to take her out of the chair last night and I was met with frustration and crankiness...back in the chair you go I said and she was happy as could be!

Did I Forget To Mention

Alex is cruising around on 2 feet these days! While she still crawls when she feels the need for speed, but if she has time she enjoys a leisurely walk- she'll take it. I'll try to post video soon.

Doesn't Take Long

Someone Was A Little Tired

Such a busy weekend for a little baby! Alex was so tired from all the fun we had in Richmond- She fell asleep on daddy after Sunday breakfast and then on Monday morning she started to fall asleep in the living room at 7am (only an hour after she woke up)! Poor thing is still tired...I find her laying on the floor sucking her thumb for 2 or 3 minutes to recharge before she plays again.

Here Puppy, Puppy, Puppy!

We had such a great weekend in Richmond that went all too quickly! Alex and Kaylee met Duke, Chris and Ashley's lab and they loved him. Alex warmed up to him right away petting him and laying on him (adorable!) Kaylee was so excited to see Duke she kept pointing at him saying 'Dahg, dahg, dahg' and she would crawl to him and then as she got close would sit down so that she wouldn't be too close. Eventually she got the courage to pet him and sometimes while he had his bone. Duke sometimes had some 'alone' time in his crate and the girls would go over to see him and shake his cage- he was such a good sport! We are excited to see him and the Crawfords again soon!

I Love Uncle Adam!

Mommy told me that Uncle Adam doesn't like popsicle sticks, tongue depressors, or anything wooden in a mouth. So mommy took this picture to send to him :)

My Minute To Win It Moment

It took long enough but I was finally able to stack the 3 golf balls on top of each other in less than a minute. I'm keeping the proof on the kitchen counter for as long as possible. Have you tried this? I apologize ahead of time for the amount of life you are about to loose on this 'game' :)

Can You See Us?

This is the girls new favorite hang out spot as of 2 or 3 weeks ago. When I go on weekend errands I often find daddy and the girls looking down on me when pull into the driveway-Right then and there all the stress from weekend errands is washed away. I mean really, how could you not love?!

Can You See Me?

Kaylee likes to pull out clothes from the laundry box and play with them. Yesterday I think she was a little tired because after she pulled out all the clothes she curled up in them and started sucking her thumb. So sweet- and it didn't take her long to fall into her nap.

Minute To Win It

The girls have created their own spin on a Minute To Win It favorite, Extreme Hanky Panky. In this game you have to pull every tissue out of 2 boxes of tissues simultaneously- the girls twist? Baggies rather than tissues. I just so happened to open a new box of baggies this morning so there were only 149 to pull out and I think Kaylee did pretty well.

A New Meaning To 'Scrambled Eggs'

It's gross..I know. and not easy to clean up, eggs kinda roll when you wipe them up.

How Did They Get There?

Umm...Alex, you dropped your pants in the bathtub.

So Much To Read!

What are you going to pick? I think I want the green book, or maybe the polar bear, or maybe one of the little books?!

Do I Have Something On My Head?

Yeah, I think I do. And it is kinda funny.

How To Entertain A Child

in a grocery store. If you don't she might just fall back in boredom (or something)

Throwing her head back like this is Alex's new favorite thing. Her version of the 'trust fall' and often times she does the Tosh.0 'surprise trust fall'-you never know when it is coming and you better catch.

Fuzzy Bunny

My little bun-buns...Don't think that this will be the last picture with those ears!

Love.

My Little Dare Devil

Alex has no fear. Her new trick is climbing onto her rocking chair and then stand up...awesome. Somehow she hasn't fallen-though she has tried many times. I was standing near her with my hand on her back and she twisted, looked at me, and pushed my hand away-'no, thank you mom, I've got this on my own.' We are in for it I am sure
