Just Roll With It

And that is just what they did. Lily was upset because Alex stopped the ride. Once the bug started moving again the tears went away.
Kaylee was playing on another bike at the time...she was chasing them :)

So Proud

We have many reasons to be proud in this house recently but the little one was Beaming with pride (see pic) when she pulled herself up using the chair and then moved to the cabinet drawers. She was so pleased :)

More Park Takes

Oh Me! Oh My!

Sometimes you have the best intentions to have fun and expect that you have everything together...well you just can't have everything.

We packed up snacks, drinks, toys, sunscreen, stroller, and we were ready. We were headed to Frying Pan Farm for an afternoon. We got there we sunscreened up and were about to head out to the animals...except it was super sunny and a little warm and lily has no hair, and now no hat. :(

No fear, we had a pair of diaper covers and a pony tail holder and when their powers combined-a hat was formed. And Lily seemed just happy enough :)

Kinda Love Them

A Box Of Bunny Pasta

The girls wanted bunny pasta for dinner...aka. Annie's Homegrown brand. Their logo is a bunny and they do have a box with bunny shaped pasta inside. But when the girls asked for that they knew what they wanted to eat because this was the only pasta left between the two of them!
Lily was able to snag a spoonful, but that was it. Little oinkers!

Nice View

A little morning visual stimulation.

Hi, Aunt Lauren

Aunt Lauren and her friend came to visit! We had a really good time and conned them into reading 'Pigeon Wants A Puppy'....at least 4 times :)

I Made Some Matches

Kaylee pulled out a toy that Uncle Chris and Aunt Ashley bought-they hadn't played with it in awhile because last time they tried they didn't really get it. This time they dumped the bag and started sorting right away. I turned around to watch them play and Kaylee had already had 4 matches made! It was awesome!
Greg and I are so proud of our girls! They are growing and learning by leaps and bounds-it is so wonderful to watch and be part of this experience. We are lucky parents.

Fo Daddy

I made dis bew-ful fo da-dee!

That is what kaylee told me as she showed me her beautiful artwork. She was so proud that she made something for daddy, and that it turns out so bew-ful :) Daddy and I pretty proud too!

Alex was so focused on peeling those stickers. She ended up making a few things one for the fridge, one for grandma, and another for kicks (it is now on our bathroom mirror).
The girls have liked their artwork in our bathroom-they have commented on how 'bew-ful' it is or they will say 'so pret tea'.
Love them

*side note: the foam stickers are a bit tricky for little fingers, so if you use them make sure you are available to help your wee one(s)

Biker Gang

Need I say more? Little hooligans those three.

We like To Swing

Grandpa has been taking us to the park. We tell him we want to go on a slide and away we go :) but we mostly swing.

Where'd It All Go?

As our usual Wednesday outing the girls and grandpa had some ice cream...or did they? It looks as if they didn't know where it all went.
Hey girls...it's in your belly.

Schumthing Fo Daddy

On Friday we made "Schumthing Fo daddy". The item of choice, brownies! The girls had fun! They had just gotten clean clothes on, so they got to wear momma's shirt as an apron.
I'm not sure what the highlight was for the girls but they got to pour the mix, water, and oil. They also cracked the eggs! It is a skill we have been working on. Alex has been pretty good but often has a soft hand and needs some assistance in actually getting the egg to crack :) and kaylee needs a little help to get it to crack but she certainly does not have a soft hand- once the egg cracks it is practically scrambles by the time it hits the surface. Kaylee's got quite the grip on the egg :)
The girls love mixing still and I am excited to introduce them to more skills in the kitchen :)
Oh! And daddy liked the brownies...he didn't even notice that the girls ate some of the batter ;)

Too Cool

The girls were playing with momma's 'schun gases' while we were waiting for our paint to be mixed at the orange store.

I See You Playing

Lily took the tunnel to peek in on her sisters playing. They were their kind self and gave her a few blocks to play with as well :)

What's Up There?

I'm not sure, but I can pull myself up and find out.
Tisk. Tisk. Little girl, you are growing up too quickly! You learned how to go from your belly to your tush, from a creep to a full on crawling machine, and now you are pulling up and walking sideways....and often taking steps forward. I know you are in a hurry to catch your sisters, but mommy and daddy don't need you to be doing that :) we love you.

Who Needs A Housekeeper?

I've got 2! My little monkey see monkey doers :) I was steam cleaning the kitchen floor this morning and Alex was itching to help. Once I let her in on the fun of steam cleaning Kaylee wanted part of the action too! It took them awhile but they did get 75% of the hallway done and about 50% of the floor space in the living room done. I'll take the "free" labor.

Paintings

Here are the paintings they mad last night. As I did with their 1 year painting for their 2 year painting I used a number 2 sticker to block out some of the white canvas.
I don't really have a problem when it comes to the girls painting EVERYTHING but I did remind them that they had to 'hide' the number 2. And sure enough that was the first thing they did with their brushes. What good listeners :)
I'm also posting their 1 year paintings so you can see the awesome-ness side by side.
Kaylee's two paintings are posted first.

Orange You Happy

The girls needed an activity last night so painting was what sprung into mind. I have been neglectful in having the girls paint their 2 year old painting, so 2 months late the painting is done :) the only trouble is that it wasn't the same size as their 1 year old painting, but I guess my plan will change as the years go on. I was so amazed with Alex while she was painting- she was so thoughtfully putting the paint on the canvas, so cool to see! It is time to get something set up to stand up and paint!
The most exciting part of last night was that Liliana was able to join her big sisters in art making. She really loved it- she's a natural :) I think she loved the feeling of the wet gooey paint.
This time around I was too busy watching the girls in their moment. It was so wonderful to see them in real life rather than behind the camera lens. I did manage to get a few pictures but none of Kaylee because she insisted on being stark naked- oh my girls have a way about them.
Painting, bath, bedtime- a wonderful ending to our day.

Watch Me Cross

The girls and I met our neighbor at the park for a fun outing. When Alex saw her little friend Ben try and cross the red ropes she just had to try. She ran right up and brought her Elmo and snack...well we had to place the snack and Elmo at the other side as a "way to go!" for making it. Here she is working hard to get to the other side.

And she took off her shoes sometime during play. Kaylee found them and bright them to me, "mommy. Addy took shoes off. I bring to youuuuu!"

No Roooom

Kaylee kept telling the dog (and or me) that there was "no roooom for puppy dawg on the cooo cooo!"

I Want A Big Bed

When do I get mine? I mean, look at me I'm 7 months old and I can stand up/ pull up...I'm ready just like my sisters!

Sleep Well Little Ones

We took the sides off the crib in preparation for our summer vacation. We decided not to rent cribs on vacation because we thought they were getting old enough to make the transition to big kid beds.
The girls were so excited to have their big beds, jumping and running around like crazy! When it came time for bed time we did our normal routine and let the girls climb in on their own. We told them it was bed time and they needed to stay in their crib and sure enough they did....until they fell out.

I'm not sure who disliked falling out of the crib more, me or the girls. Sounds mean momma of me, but I hated hearing them scared and crying in the middle of the night. To be honest, they probably hated it most. But on a funny note here is a picture of the girls 2 hours into sleeping in their big girl beds.
The best part of the picture is that I took it about 45 seconds after Kaylee thumped out of bed....and she was sound asleep!

Hi,Bee

The girls love seeing bees but HATE flies. Go figure.
We did our somewhat typical walk to the mailbox and the bees derailed our venture.
A typical conversation with the girls and the bees...
"hi, bee."
Bzzzzzz. Bzzzzz.
"I sit with you bee."
"you. You. Youuuuuuu."
Bzzzzz. Bzzzzz.
"bye bee! See you later bee. See you tomorrow bee."
