Snow Day

A few days ago (maybe weeks ago, I have no concept of time) old man weather brought some snow and ice. Despite the cold we needed a little time out of the house. So we took to marching in the ice. I taught the girls how to march months ago and we practice often and it has been a great little 'tool' to get the kids home after a day of play. This time we used marching feet so that we didn't slip and slide all over the place, and we stuck to the grass...much easier to march in. Alex loved stomping and marching all around, Kaylee wasn't as big of a fan at first but she warmed up to the outing. we paraded about with only minor slides and bumps and by the time we went inside it was getting a little dark- it was a successful outing full of bumps, skids, chilly fresh air, airplanes, cracked ice, cold fingers and smiles.

Dip It Low

So it never occurred to me to feed my children chicken nuggets until about 2 weeks ago. Only because I stumbled upon a coupon and Harris Teeter was having a double coupon deal up to $1.99. So I went and gave the nuggets a try...and no surprise here they were a hit! The girls love them and I think they like them even more because they are a "dipable" food (I just made up a word, but it fits); They like any food that they can dip into something. With that in mind if I am able to give them dip with a meal I do, for instance- pancakes get a strawberry jam dip, veggies could get a dressing dip, grilled cheese could get a soup dip, and chicken nuggets get a honey mustard dip. And for our new smiley faced mashed potatoes (thanks, GG)...I didn't know what to use as a dip for those. I ran out of honey mustard so I gave them sweet and sour sauce, Greg was disgusted by this but the girls drank it up...literally. Kaylee hadn't finished one chicken nugget before her sweet and sour sauce was over half empty! She likes to dip her food then suck off the dip and do it again and again and again. Alex on the other hand is happy to dip and bite :)These pictures are of the girls enjoying their sweet and sour sauce...Have you had a little dip today? It seems to make my kids a little happier.

Kick Back

Apparently Kaylee likes to just kick back some times with her favorite toys, the iphone and Sheepy.

A Statement Piece

For Kaylee it happens to be a purple glove (today).

Late School Night

Good thing tonight is a late night for Greg! And the house was partially cleaned 5 minutes earlier...

Another Thumb Sucker

5 Under 2

Yep. 5 kids under the age of 2 at Wegmans for shopping and lunch with just the moms. There is a first time for everything and this outing would be considered a success! I wish we had better pictures but the pizza arrived and we were all hungry :) as great as this trip turned out I think we will have to do it again-What do you say, Lisa? :)

Making House Calls

The girls love playing with their stethoscope. Usually putting it in their ears and then letting the end drag on the ground....I can't imagine that feels good on the ears but they don't seem to mind. On this particular day Kaylee wanted to use it as though she were a real doctor and Alex helped her by pulling up her own shirt; it was cool to see them role playing. Alex didn't get to play doctor, but I don't think she really minded.

Post Extraction Doctor Visit

The girls and I had a very successful day at the doctors office all by ourselves. Now when we got to the office there was a collective groan from the other patients...who wants to hang out with ruckus kids before any sort of dental work?! The girls showed all those groaners something. We waited for 20 minutes before being seen by the doctor and during that time te girls sat quietly in the office chairs and then got up to look out the window. They got up and down front the chairs a few times, danced to the lobby music, and ate a snack, but they never raised their voice, hit, cried or ran around- I was one proud momma! We have started to conquer the world one outing at a time!

What Is The Story Morning Glory

Daddy read to the girls the other morning before their nap time. And kaylee needed to accessorize, check out her socks.

Breakfast Time

It may be just the desire to wear a bib at any point during the day as of it were a fancy necklace or it could be the fascination with the British and their hats, either way it makes my kids happy. Just breakfast in typical form...followed by Kaylee hand placing each extra clump of oatmeal from her bowl carefully and precisely where she wants it on her bib. Great.

A Lasting Impression

Someone, probably Alex made her way to her favorite room at my parents house, the sun room, and decided to leave her mark. And I just received a text from my dad asking when the maid was coming :) too bad I know that he LOVES that there are hand prints on the door and that when he sees them I'm pretty sure he'll chuckle just a little.

Proud Artwork

Even 21 month olds can be proud of their artwork. Today they drew on Post-it notes and hung them proudly on the refrigerator. This is the first time their work has been displayed on the fridge- usually it hangs on the wall. But I think I like this idea of Post-it note artwork.

Just Another Day

Usually people use the phrase "Just another day" as a bad or mundane thing, not in this house. Today the girls found an hour of fun and imagination using their dogs and their new little kid size table and chairs. After that their dogs went for a shopping cart ride, all were dressed in their finest :) just another day here in our house and it is only 9:30.

Wisdom Is Gone

Last Thursday I had my last 2 wisdom teeth pulled and thankfully Greg was able to take Friday off to care for the girls. The day of the removal GG watched the girls and Greg drove me to the dr. office. "put me under, doc." I don't deal with mouth pain and my mouth is small (shocker, I know). So under I went, even though it takes longer for in office recovery and it is more expensive it just had to be done. I don't think the doctor liked the idea as much, but he went along with it anyway and did a great job.
My one impacted tooth hurt and was swollen for about 5 day but all in all the recovery was easy. I am just now able to sleep on my impacted side and also comfortably chew pretty much any food. I took coming back to real food slowly since I'm a bit of a whimp.

2:08 Update

Nap time went well I guess you could say. Lily was mad about nap time from 2:11-2:16 until I gave in and put her pacifier back in. And 3 tugs of the pacifier later she was asleep until 3:30. The girls on the other ha decided that nap time wasn't for them. They chatted and played in their crib the entire time. Fine by me, it still gives all 3 of us some down time. I was laughing listening to the squeals of delight coming from their room- If I can post the audio file of their nap I will do that.
If you know my girls you know they like their naps and somehow the girls made it to 9:00pm with only a morning nap!

Just Want To Be Near You

Loving Alex just wanted to be near Liliana and touch her hand. If Lily's hand moved Alex would make she didn't loose touch of it for long. It is so sweet seeing my girls love their little sister. Xoxo

It Is 2:08

And this the first day I have officially put all 3 down for a 2:00 nap.

A & K always have a 2:00 nap and Liliana fell into the same cycle most days, but today is the first day I'm putting her in her crib for this nap. Wish us luck- the first 5 minutes have been good :)

A Baby Has A Few Faces

She happens to have cute face...and it is just a wee bit round :)

Let Us Find Daddy

The wanted to play outside the other day...at 8 am. Lucky for me it was a warm 37* degrees. After an hour+ outside it was time to "find daddy". The hunt was on...and we found him.

Zip, Zip, Zip

How do you work this thing? I mean I can pull it up and pull it down but then it falls apart and I can't put it back together. Tricky, tricky little thing. I'll get you working one of these days.

Christmas Winners Cont.

Greg and I couldn't figure out what we wanted to get the girls for Christmas and then he came up with a great idea...little backpacks. I wasn't too sure about the idea but he was confident that they girls would love them so I went along with it and did what I do best- shop :)
I found a great little bag on Amazon and Greg and I picked the best designs for our girls (there were probably 12 different design options, who doesn't love some options). We decided upon a pink bag with a cat and mouse and the other is a brown bag with an owl (surprise, surprise).
So did they like them?? Well, daddy knows best! :)

Mouse In The House!

Or just an Alex being a big girl and peeling her own orange. Or as she says it "Peeee Oh. Oh. Ooooo"

Note To Self

Delete picture from iPhone more often...and remember where they go on the stupid PC. I miss iPhoto. I only had a mere 1,532 pictures stored on my phone.

House Is Awake

Our house was a peaceful place at 5:10 when Greg started his shower. I woke up around 5:18 and the babies were all still sleeping. And then at about 5:50 Greg went to say goodbye to the girls and was greeted by a wide eyed Alex staring at the door. And then she let out her battle cry to Kaylee and we were up! Lily woke up right about then and this place was a hoppin'!
Greg left for the Metro a little later than normal today so I hope he didn't have a hard time parking or catching a train- but I know the girls liked the extra time with him this morning.
Here is a picture of all of us going strong am hour later- go lily!

Daddy!

We wanted to say "Hi!". We took this picture last night in the snow and sent it to Greg before his first class of the semester started. Now I'll share these smiles with you!

*Lily was inside happily hanging out in her swing looking at her reflection and the hanging sheep.

Lily Moved

Lily is officially in her big baby room as of this past weekend. The girls helped daddy move the big people bed out of the room to make room for the crib. And as expected, Kaylee needed something on her head in order to do her best work.
She faired well in her new and hardly decorated room- but hey at least it is painted :) but I'll tell you what her room isn't that far from our bedroom but the walk there is so long you are half asleep and almost dizzy with exhaustion...you know that point web you are rudely awoken out of REM. yeah, she did that to me...and Greg. Sweet one that little girl. So perhaps she liked sleeping in mom and dads room and this was her one way to say "Gotcha!".
All is well and no mor baby in our room and suddenly we have a lot more space again. Another room to arrange :)

Feeling Like A Professional

Liliana got me up this morning around 5am- pretty typical these days; she has been waking up pretty much 7 hours on the dot from the time I put her in her crib. So this morning I decided I'd stay awake...no sense in trying to go to bed for another 30 minutes or so while Greg gets ready for work. So I'm awake now, with a hot cup of Chai and a legal pad ready to conquer (funny looking word) a meal plan, grocery list and or the ideas I have for the girls upcoming exploratory area in the loft of our master bedroom. I'll let you know what gets done while I play a professional before work this morning. :)

Needed A Picture

At our house we do bath time right before bed and tonight was no different...well sort of. This night Kaylee did not want to give up her towel, the one with the hood on it- she wore it after getting dried off, she wore it while getting lotioned (if that is a word) and diapered, she wore it while she got pj's on, and still wore it during book time, teeth brushing time and straight through prayer time. Greg picked her up to go to bed and she was quite clear with him that she was going to wear that towel to bed.
Greg: Kaylee, you are going to bed. I need your towel.
Kaylee: No.
Greg: Kaylee, we are going to bed.
Kaylee: No.
And while happily saying 'no' it really wasn't worthy of an argument. So off she went to bed, wearing her hooded towel.

Side note: she fought with me to keep the towel after her pj's were on...but we came to an agreement that she could keep a towel on as long as she traded me the wet one for a dry one :).

Baby Needs A Diaper

Kaylee pointed to her diaper and asked for a new one. I naturally figure that she needs a change but oh no, she needed a diaper for her baby.
Oh my baby girl.
